Does the presence of a rooster in a coop affect the egg laying habits of hens?
We have 5 young chickens in our coop. 3 have started to lay eggs; 1 of the other 2 is now acting like a rooster (sound, demeanor and appearance). We don’t mind keeping him as long as we continue to get daily egg production out of the rest. Will the presence of a rooster affect their laying habits?

Having or not having a rooster will not affect egg laying. You will have fertilized eggs. If one of your hens goes broody you can have new babies, or you could get an incubator. Nothing incorrect with eating the eggs either…just collect them daily and pop ‘em in the fridge.
Yep. It’s kinda like the ancient saying that if mama ain’t pleased , ain’t no one pleased.
