How to build and maintain a Chicken Coop

Chicken coop: How many nests do I need for 3 hens?

Does each hen need a nest or do they share? I’m looking at a coop that says it holds 5 chickens but onky has 2 nests? What gives?

  1. Just guessing says:

This seems like a weird question from a person with an avatar name such as yours. But, each hen should have her own nest. It avoids fighting.

I don’t know what is going on we had 1 nest for each hen I don’t reckon you will get as many eggs so try and find 3 nest Excellent Luck

    hens need their own box

  4. Royboy says:

Hens don’t have much to look forward to in life so at least give them their own nest! This is impractical when there are many hens but with only three, yours should be a nice friendly community.
