How to build and maintain a Chicken Coop

How do you know when you chicken is sick and what it has?

WE have 5 chickens. Recently one of them did not get into the coop for the night. The next morning she was back and seemed fine. Since then it is like she has a cold. She sleeps alot and really coughs. She is very swollen looking too. Our vet does not deal with chickens and really at a piece I dont want to pay a minimum of to get some one out here. I am worried about the other chickens and my children me getting sick.

i would suggest if your not willing to pay the expense have the chicken killed and the body removed to stop any infections spreading

I reckon that you know that it is sick. dunno wot it has though. just feed it to your dog and then get a new one. ours never stayed in the coop and htey didn’t get sick, although we could never find the eggs. They used to peck mice’s brains out of their heads and then eat them.

I see that you have a black lab who would be pleased to eat something :)

have you ever tried to shoot one? they stay alive for like 3 hours after you shoot them. If you cut their heads off, they stay alive for a long time too. lol… that is the truth, even though it is sick.

    Chickens are such cool animals.
