Just by your description they were not recluses. The Brown Recluse is a small spider. They are light brown in color with very small bodies and long thin legs. Living in the south I have seen many. In fact I have one in a jar on my counter right now that came out of a bag of dog food that was recently donated to my raccoons. Here is a picture for you.

A brown recluse is very small. We call the ones with long legs, Daddy long legs. They are harmless. A wolf spider has a larger body, and shorter legs. They can get really huge, but again they don’t hurt you. You could have sprayed the house with something and gotten rid of them.
I don’t know but boy is that yucky. You poor thing.
Wow, I’ve heard of people being "in the dog house", but never "in the chicken coop"! LOL!
Is this some kind of punishment or did you lose a bet?
