How to build and maintain a Chicken Coop

I have hit my head several times in the last 2 weeks. Does the damage add up?

I’m not being abused except by chickens and guinea fowls, so don’t worry about that! I’m trying to feed them & they try to glide over my head and out the door. And then I was trying to help build another coop, turned and ran right into a board with the front right of my forehead. I can’t reckon of any head hits for decades (I’m 56) so it’s not like I just bang my head over & over. It was just coincidence I guess or terrible chicken feeding practices. I am worried though – all those shows that say blows to the head can cause hurt and/or personality changes. Have to go lie down now – this forehead bump is throbbing. It’s the size of an egg I guess and turning dark gray. I don’t want to end up damaging my mind at this late stage! Thank you & yes, I know I will be more careful!

  1. Fancy says:

Yes. Depending on how hard you hit it, it CAN cause permanent brain hurt.
It depends. Just watch your front side, ok? :)

If it were me, I would have already place ice on my head. Then if the bump, swelling or possible headache was not gone by the end of the day I would have taken myself or have gotten someone to take me to the Dr or emergency room and get checked out just to make certain you do not have a concussion.
I am no spring chicken. I am 59 and over the years have banged my head several times by walking into things as I misjudged the distance between myself and the door or whatever
