Sounds like she survived against the odds on this one. Chickens don’t swim very well, and I’m surprised she didn’t drown.

The sneezing may be because she aspirated on some water, which may lead to a respiratory problem. I would start by drying her thoroughly (as even though it’s summer, a soaking wet chicken can still be hypothermic). A kennel dryer or a hairdryer on a low setting can be used. Dry her completely and place her in a quarantine pen. You may also want to hang a brood lamp in a corner for additional warmth if she needs it.

I would place powdered vitamins and terrimyacin (broad spectrum antibiotic) in her water for the next 2 days. If she’s getting worse, you can switch her to Bactrim tablets (1/4 tablet dissolved in water) if she’s showing signs of eye and nasal discharge and lethargy.

Watch her over the next several days. Hopefully she’ll get better and learn to stay out of the pool in the future!

I imagine she’s tired, hypothermic, and may have gotten some water in her nose. None of these require medicine. But she’s breathing, that’s a excellent sign. Keep her nice and warm overnight to make sure she’s overcome the stress. If she got a small water in her respiratory system, that could be irritating, so pamper her a small to keep it from developing into an infection. I reckon you saved her just in time.
