I’ve had this chicken for four years and she has been acting weird for the last couple of weeks. She lets me touch her and get really close (that’s not normal) and she spends a lot of the time close to the coop and hunched over.

Is she laying on eggs??? If not and she is just acting weird, you could try a couple of things….. one would be to go to the local feed store and buy an antibiotic to add to the water…… this would help if the issue is internal….. you might also try a dusting powder in case it is parasites……. and finally another option would be to try worming her with a wormer for chickens…… do you have other chickens??? Are any of them acting weird too??? I would start with the worming and dust….. both cheap fixes…… and then if she is still with you and still acting weird, I would buy the antibiotic or question your vet for a shot of an antibiotic for chickens (usually they will give this to you to give to her so its cheaper)….. hope something helps!!!
Maybe she’s pregnant.
Go to the vet.
well, i’m no expert on chickens (lol) but my neighbors have chickens. I have no thought what the life-span of a chicken is, but maybe she is getting ancient?
or my mom’s pet bird had an egg stuck in her but… maybe.. i dunnno how you would check, but… lol
or maybe she has some type of bacteria or ate something that wasn’t excellent??
i really have no thought lol
you should adopt another chicken that would otherwise be a potential dinner
she might have parasites is the chicken eating right? is she skinny or it might be that the chicken is laying eggs and she is ready to sit on them thats why she spends most of the time in the coop
