How to build and maintain a Chicken Coop

the eglu chicken coop?

hi
im getting 6 chickens for my back yard an a eglu for them but i was looking at other coops and the ones that house 6 chickens are so much larger than the eglu that houses 6 (im getting the heavy breeds. the eglu is apparently predator proof so does that mean i should lock them up at night in the box or let them go in the run and the box as they want. and is the large eglu really able to fit up to ten hens
heres a pic of the eglu house part

Im not sure exactly what your asking, but those should both fit 6 chickens nicely,it wont hurt them to be crowded at night because it helps them stay warm and prevents fighting,I would get the one with the run so that in the summer you can leave it open and they wont be stiffed in there, but it should work fine for the winter. (always close the run door at night though many wild animals will eat chickens)
