Raccoons or something got in and only took 2 of them and left the others, 4 of them. Is that like raccoons? Small hole, no blood, no feathers? Chicken wire is what I have now but others told me that won’t work on keeping out predators. I don’t have alot of money right now, as these chickens came to me unexpectedly, so I need thoughts for something affordable that will work excellent. Also, what animal do you reckon did this? Coop is at least 2 feet off ground with cinder blocks, covered top bottom sides with chicken wire, and they have a box they can go into at night. I live in western pa. Thanks in advance!
My coop has a door on it that somebody could easily open ( we haven’t got a lock yet). There was a hole about 4 feet off the ground that look like was it was torn/ripped. It was only about 8-9" huge. If somebody wanted to take them I reckon they would have used the huge door.

I use 1" mesh poultry netting.
Foxes & raccoons are a plague here- I also have 3 strands of electric fence on the outside perimeter of my yard- 6", 12", & 18" off the ground respectively. I power them from my electric fencer.
Around the yard perimeter on the ground I have a 24" band of 1" mesh to prevent predators from digging.
The combination of the ground mesh & electric wire has worked fantastic! No predation at all!
Have you thought maybe someone came by and took your chickens?
